This hotel is great looking, offered us a great location and the room was really beautiful.
-Starting with the location, the FCC is a $2 ride in a Tuk Tuk to Pub Street and the markets and also a really short ride away from the Angkor Temples too.
-Staff were fine, nothing amazing but polite and friendly.
-Make use of the happy hour its lovely to chill out and watch the world pass you by on the main road.
-Lovely pool area which is maintained well.
-Room was lovely and loved the print on the wall. The only thing was it would be great to have a mirror in the actual room.
-Due to the way the rooms look over one and other of the first floor we did need to keep out curtain closed the entire time we were in the room. Perhaps blinds/shades would be more beneficial.
-The Bathroom was very nice however a little worn around the edges I also made the mistake of opening the frosted glass panel in the bathroom which I did not realise hid a slotted panel window type area. It was full of dead bugs and other yuk stuff think this could be cleaned more often.
-Shower looked great but it was near on impossible to have a shower without water going over the edge onto the floor...!
-Overall the hotel I think could do with a bit more TLC, I know it’s a hot and tropical climate and so there are bound to be dead bugs etc but feel the hotel could do more to keep communal areas cleaner. On the stairs up to our room the flat roof area was a bit of mess and just needed a good sweep.
-As the hotel is open to the elements this is a great looking design but does mean it can be rather noisy. There are some insects in Cambodia that travel around in groups and like crickets emanate a noise but they sound like car alarms going off. If you are a light sleeper this could be an issue, we did get used to it. Also open air hotel means there are lizards etc around again to be expected in a tropical location, not for everyone though worth a mention I thought.
-Restaurant – breakfast was lovely and a great choice on the menu. Dinner was really expensive and its much cheaper to jump into a tuk tuk to Pub St and the surrounding area and eat for much much less!
-Shops in the hotel seem a bit pointless.Never saw anyone buy a thing from them or even really visit them. Also as the markets are so so cheap makes no sence them being so overpriced.
We really enjoyed staying in Siem Reap, the locals here are great really friendly and this is a nice not amazing hotel to experience it from.
