Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival
Discover the architectural treasures of Cambodia in 1 day from Siem Reap. Enjoy stops at Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, a city founded by King Jayavarman VII. Visit some of the astounding masterpieces such as Bayon Temple, Terrace of Elephants, and Ta Prohm.

Sit back and relax as you're picked up from your hotel in Siem Reap. Then travel north to Angkor. En route, stop at Angkor Thom, the city that was founded by Angkor's greatest king, Jayavarman VII, and the last capital of the Khmer Empire.
As you walk in, pass by the gorgeous 65 foot (20 m) tall gates, and take in the beautiful views of the surroundings, remains of 10th-century stone monuments. Next, wander around the gorgeous Bayon Temple, a Buddhist shrine that retains elements of Hindu cosmology. See the Terrace of the Elephants and see the bas-reliefs of the Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at local Restaurant by your own

Later, visit Ta Prohm, a quiet monastery with a maze of courtyards and galleries, located in the jungle with overgrown trees and vines. Continue your tour to Angkor Wat, UNESCO-listed and a national symbol of Cambodia. Upon arrival, marvel at its architectural grandeur and snap photos of the majestic Khmer shrines, intricate Apsara carvings, and gorgeous sculptures around the temple.
After a day of exploration, hop back in your coach and relax on the journey back to your hotel.

DAY 2: Siem Reap Exploration
We head further out through rural countryside to the small but beautiful temple of Banteay Srey. This temple is largely built of pink sandstone, a harder rock that can be more elaborately carved and better survives the rigors of time. This is an opportunity to capture some good photographs of the clear and detailed carvings. We continue to Banteay Samre: Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs,
which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.

We continue to visit Pre Rup, traditionally believed to be a funerary temple, but in fact the state temple of Rajendravarman II. Mebon, architecturally and artistically superior temple-mountain. Beautifully carved false doors on upper level as well as an excellent view of the surrounding countryside.
Banteay Kdei (surrounded by four concentric walls), Srah Srang - The Royal Baths" was once used for ritual bathing, Prasat Kravan - with its unique brick sculptures.

DAY 3: Siem Reap Exploration
After breakfast, a continuing fullday tour for Angkor complex.
Morning, excursion to Grand Circuit, visit Pre Rup, traditionally believed to be a funerary temple, but in fact the state temple of Rajendravarman II. Mebon, architecturally and artistically superior temple-mountain. Beautifully carved false doors on upper level as well as an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. Tasom, the most distant temple on the grand circuit. Small but classic Jayavarman VII temple, Neak Pean, which means ‘coiled serpents’, from the encoiled nagas that encircled the temple. The temple is faced by a statue of the horse, Balaha, saving drowning sailors and Preah Khan, ‘Preah Khan' means 'sacred sword'. In harmony with Ta Prohm, which was dedicated to Jayavarman VII's mother, Preah Khan is dedicated to his father.

On the way back, stop to have a look at the fishing villages which dot the semi-submerged forest that lines the flood plane rim of the lake, offering an excellent place to see lakeside rural Cambodia. Finally, visit and do shopping at the handicraft of the sculpture center « les Artisans d’Angkor », the finest authentic Khmer arts and crafts, stone & wood carving, lacquer ware, furniture making, silk weaving & accessories. I was part of a group that used Angkor Focus to book several trips. I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of service, especially when we gave very little notice on more than one occasion!! Vannak, you are a real gem, and I would recommend your business without hesitation! .

This trip was our first time visiting Siem Reap, Cambodia. Our 4-day tour was such a great time. Great package (deal) for a short stay. We got to visit mostly all the main temples (Angkor Wat, Banteay Srey, Angkor Thom, and more) and Beng Mealea. The pick-up and drop off service was also a plus. It's also a good experience...More
